Learning about homophones

This week people were either learning about homophones or the long a sound. I was learning about homophones. Our task was to learn about them then put what we learnt onto a google drawing ( you were aloud to do it on other things but that is what I chose.).Click here to see my google drawing about homophones.

Seeing My Nephew Again

On Sunday we meet my nephew (who I haven't seen for around half a year) at Bounce. His name is Jake and he has changed heaps since I last saw him. He can talk a lot more now and is much faster. At Bounce, the main thing we did was going down slides. At 11:30 me and my brother Louis did some rock climbing which was really fun. When we finished that, we went and played with Jake again back on the slides. After a bit we started playing hide 'n' seek. It was super funny because sometimes we had to pretend to not see Jake. It was really cute when he counted to ten and came found me or my brother. After that we went on the tramps. Me and Louis played ball tag but that didn't last long. Then back on the slides and at the end was the worst part. When we were leaving we said good bye and then Jake started balling his eyes out. It was so sad. So we said good bye one more time and then went home.

Touch Rugby Try outs

 Today Mr Curtis and Matua Kahura picked the touch rugby, A team and all the other teams. I really want to be in the A team.

 At the start of the try outs we had to sit in our year groups year fours, year fives then year six Mr Curtis said. He put us into teams by going 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 and so on. I was in team three. Mr Curtis was rolling the teams on and off and then Matua came. When Matua came he watched for a bit then he split the field in half. He took the year fives and six on one side and Mr Curtis had the year fours. Matua was deciding the A team. He already has six people in the A team. He put those six in one team and then split the rest of the people in to two teams. He started rolling those three teams off and on. I think I did alright at this. then it was finished and Matua said he's going to choose the team tonight.

I really hope to get into the A team.

Why Drawing is Enjoyable and Relaxing

Drawing is creating an image usually on a piece of paper or online. Drawing is Fun because it's relaxing, there are many ways to draw and at the end you can be proud of what you have drawn.


Drawing is  enjoyable and relaxing. When you're drawing it gives you time to think and let anything on your mind just float away. Drawing is really exciting and fun because you can have competitions or just draw something on your mind. It's really relaxing when you're drawing because you can just leave the world and focus on just one thing which is your drawing.


There are many ways to draw. Some people like to sketch, colour and more. Most people sketch their drawing and then they finish it with colour or just putting black over the sketch. Also you can draw a cartoon picture, a real life portrait or something else. They're are many ways and things you can draw.


One of the best parts of drawing is finishing. When you get to give it life and add depth. While you are colouring you get to choose colour combinations, blend and shade. It could be a flip book, picture or anything and when you are done you get to sit back and admire your creation.


This is why drawing is  enjoyable and relaxing. Whether your drawing on paper or online when you finish you can see your idea in front of you.

My Canoe Polo Tournament

My Canoe Polo Tournament

In the 2 weeks of school holiday I had a canoe polo tournament at Frey berg pool. Canoe Polo is a team sport were you are in a canoe and have to get it in the other teams goal. But this wasn't a normal tournament because I had a random team. I only new one person in my team who was Lockie but I don't know him much at all. The other three people in my team were Curtis, Jinaea and I think the other one was Mikayla. Also our coach we had never met who I think was called Kayla?


Our team was good but as the games went on are team got more and more tired. Our first game was against the Hurrikeets A team, then Taranaki, next was the Water Cannons (which my friend Jericho was filling in for)and Hurrikeets B team. Our first game against the Hurrikeets A team. We were going good but the problem was that each time we scored they scored right after us. When we got to five points they had a break through. the final score was five to eight. Our closest game was against Taranaki but in the end they managed to pull ahead. Next was the Water Cannons. They broke us we lost by about ten points. Our final game was versing Hurrikeets B team to see if we got seventh or eighth, we lost but had a close game.


We got last and lost all our games but I don't care because my team was really funny and fun. I LOVED the tournament and meeting my team. Also the funniest part was when Lockie said "we need to win" then I asked him " if he would rather win and have a bad game or loose and have a great game" he said "win but have a bad game" then my coach said to me " at least you tried". I REALLY hope I play with this team again.

The book holes so far

At the moment in my class my teacher is reading Holes.It is a book about a boy named Stanley Yelnats. (Yelnats is Stanley spelt backwards.) Stanley's family has no good luck so Stanley is always in the wrong place at the wrong time. Having no good luck and being in the wrong place and the wrong time Stanley was accused of stealing. So he had to choose to go to Camp Green Lake or prison. (Stanley chose the Camp because he has never been to Camp.) At Camp Green Lake you must dig a 5ft deep 5ft wide hole. In Stanley's tent there were 6 boys called, X-ray, Squid, Armpit, Magnet, Zig-Zag and Zero. Stanley also got the nickname Caveman. Holes is a good book that I recommend.

My Basket Ball Tournament

Last Thursday I went to a basket ball tournament.  My team has eight players, Kaylis, Mana, Tumoana, Zahrn, Ethan, Jackson, David and me. We were in pool b and didn't lose a game.

Our closest game was 24 to 28.  This happened when we were versing Levin east hawks. Last time they versed us we lost. After the pool games we versed second place of pool a. Second place in pool a was... Foxton beach. That was also a close match but we won. The last game was the final which was against... Levin east hornets. This game was hard because the Levin east hornets are a rep team and last time we versed this team we lost by around twenty points. This time when the game finished there was an eight point gap. the winning team was... Levin east hornets. Then it was time for prize giving. We were the runner ups and Levin east hornets were first. MVP for the boys was Kaylis and for the girls it was Taylah from the Levin east hornets.

My Favourite Fish in a Tree Task

This is my favourite piece of work, from Fish In A Tree, called the S.S. Enterprise. I reckon I did a good job. I like how I made the flames look  sort of realistic and put every detail I could see on it. The Star ship Enterprise fits into the story because of Albert's flint top. Flint is the person who steered the S.S. Enterprise in Star Trek.

Hi my name is Giorgio, I’m a ten year old. I live in Ōtaki which is in New Zealand. I’m a year six and I go to Waitohu School. I’m english but I know a little italian. My goals are to learn more italian, get faster, get better at high jump, swim faster, learn piano and get better at maths. My favourite sport is soccer, my favourite instrument is the piano, my favourite food is cheese cake, my favourite hobbies are art and soccer. my best friends are Zach (who I play soccer with), Nevaeh.G ( who is funny and tall), Nevaeh.L (who is short and smart) and Bijou ( who is not afraid of much). My hobbies are art, soccer, athletics, swimming and more. When I’m older I want to play for the all whites and only the all whites not any other team.
